CHALLENGING THE GOVERNOR GENERAL

I hope that media across Canada will pick up the importance of retired Major Frank Laverty’s challenge to the Governor General at the Remembrance Day Ceremony in Ottawa on November 11 of this year 2005.

When he and other Veterans and supporters turned their backs on the Governor General, they followed the precedent set when a number of veterans turned their backs on then Prime Minister Trudeau at a previous Remembrance Day ceremony. Major Laverty wants to know whether Governor General Michaelle Jean is a Separatist. Videos shown across Canada confirm that she supported and encouraged separatism.

Some media think that the statement issued in her name after her appointment should be enough. It is not enough. The statements she makes are decided by and prepared for her by her “handlers”, as they are called. The Prime Minister’s office will make sure that she says, with all her charm and innocence, exactly what they want her to say.

And they hope that she will get them off the hook with people across Canada who know how Prime Minister Chretien plundered this country in a failed attempt to buy loyalty in Quebec and also know that Prime Minister Martin is giving Quebec powers that effectively share our sovereignty with Quebec alone.

My legal research over the past 50 years confirms the need for Canadians to trust themselves and not the Governments. I believe that they will welcome the Governor General in her own right, but I hope and pray that they know that she must speak and act for the Governments that have betrayed us.
